Years of rockhounding, searching the beaches and cutting stones have taught me the best way to reveal each stone's unique, hidden, inner beauty to almost miraculously transform the gem stones into treasure. When in the area, you will be welcome to stop into Robs Rock Shop to see the many pieces of stone I have worked, and have on display.
Fifty foot tides and 12 knot currents pound materials around, leaving the outer surface rough and well chipped. Although an experienced eye can tell when the material is good to work with, you never know exactly what pattern/colors will emerge as you work with the materials to reveal the individual, complex inner beauty of each sample.
No two pieces are exactly alike. Even after collecting and working seriously with samples for over 20 years, I am still finding new colors and different or rare combinations. This amazing part of the world has many quartz varieties, zeolites, agates, jaspers, amethyst, and opalescent formations yet to be discovered.
The Bay of Fundy from Cape Split to Brier Island along the south Fundy shore is prolific in Zeolite minerals, fossils, Jasper and Agate. One of the Zeolite minerals, Mordenite, is named after the town of Morden Nova Scotia.
